Cooperative Income Sharing Program (CISP)

The Cooperative Income Sharing Program (CISP) is a student-run, student-funded program that provides grants to students choosing unpaid public interest co-ops. CISP runs a snack table in the Commons and a bookstore where all official NUSL clothing and merchandise is sold, including sweatshirts and mugs. It’s a great place to donate your used textbooks or buy your books for the semester at a discounted rate. Students who are eligible for work-study can apply to work for CISP.

Hiring

Students who are eligible for work-study can apply to work for CISP. We usually seek applications a few weeks prior to the start of each semester. Please make sure to check the Weekly Wire Newsletter for how to apply!

Book Donation

Looking to get rid of your books from last semester? You can donate used textbooks to CISP!

All the used textbooks we sell are at a reduced price and the proceeds go towards our public interest co-op stipends!

Stipend

If you’re doing a public-interest co-op, apply for a stipend from CISP! Note: Judicial internships are ineligible for these stipends.

Keep an eye out for our applications in the Weekly Wire at the end of each semester.

Silent Auction & No Talent Talent Show

Every March/April, CISP hosts its Silent Auction & No Talent Talent Show to raise funds for public interest co-op stipends. The Silent Auction usually features meals or activities with professors, discounts on bar prep, and gift cards to local businesses. The No Talent Talent Show allows students and faculty to show off their talents or to just get on stage and see what happens. In the past, we’ve featured students singing, playing a musical instrument, acting out a scene (including a scene from Spongebob Squarepants), stand-up comedy, and more. The show also features a Fashion Show of CISP Merchandise.
